My name is Rachel Cavic, nee Rumler, and I was born on October 30th, 1980 along with my twin sister, Rhiannon. I graduated from Fontbonne in May of 2004 with a certification to teach elementary education, but at this time I want to try and pursue other adventures such as writing. Matthew and I married in June of 2004 and we currently reside in St. Louis, Missouri with our little Maine Coon, Gabrielle. I enjoy a variety of activities such as reading fiction, web design, making graphics, clown kachinas, and Radio Theater. Classical music and musicals are my favorite type of music to listen to. I’m also taken with Period films like Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, and The Turn of the Screw.
Since Rhiannon's death, I have become a member of the Twinless twin support group. It helps me to spend time with them because they are going through the same things that I am. In June, I plan on hosting a regional meeting in our apartment. I think it will give me a better chance to meet the twinless twins from St. Louis and to help other twinless in the process. By doing something positive while grieving, it may help me spirtually and emotionally make the transition to the acceptance stage in the grieving process. I'm still at a point where I need to find myself and learn how to live without her. I simply won't just "get over it" because this isn't something that's ever going to go away. Eventually, I'm going to create a scrapbook in her memory. Writing also may be a good therapy for me, and I have been wanting to write about her for awhile now. I have mixed emotions about publishing a book about her (either fiction or non-fiction) because I'm afraid I wouldn't do justice to her, but I'm playing it by ear. |
